The existing roof structure may be altered or upgraded as part of the conversion. The existing rafters purlins / props will need to be removed to install the new floor or roof windows. The loads on the roof structure will increase (for example plasterboard ceiling to the underside of the rafters) again we will provide calculations and a full detailed design to ensure that this critical area is carried out correctly.
